Baptism

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" (Matthew 28:19-20)

Water Baptism is a biblical ordinance given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. The word “baptism” comes from the Greek word “baptizo" which means to plunge into, submerge, to sink, thrust under, immerse, or soak. At Agapé we believe in full-submergence water baptism.

Water Baptism is an act of obedience that is subsequent to or before the New Birth (salvation) experience. The way to become a Christian or Christ follower is by receiving Jesus Chrsit as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9, 10). Water Baptism is an outward sign of the inward grace of salvation. It represents that we have died to sin and self, and we now live new in Him.

At Agapé, we usually offer two opportunities during the year to be baptized. If you would like to participate in the next Water Baptism ceremony, please complete the form below.
